Industrial-Grade Calcium Carbonate

Industrial‑grade calcium carbonate is a widely used inorganic filler and additive, produced from natural limestone, marble, or chalk via grinding, purification, or chemical precipitation. It has lower purity requirements compared to food‑grade and is mainly used in industrial manufacturing.

It features high whiteness, good dispersibility, stable chemical properties, low cost, and excellent filling performance. It is widely applied in plastics, rubber, papermaking, coatings, paints, adhesives, building materials, and other industrial fields.

Industrial-Grade Calcium Carbonate:Main Food Applications & Dosage

Main Industrial Applications:

1. Plastics industry
Used as filler in PVC, PE, PP, masterbatch, profiles, pipes, films, etc. Improves rigidity, heat resistance, dimensional stability, and reduces cost.
2. Rubber industry
Filler for tires, hoses, seals, rubber sheets. Improves hardness, wear resistance, processing performance, and reduces cost.
3. Paper industry
Filler and coating pigment for paper and cardboard. Improves whiteness, opacity, smoothness, and printability.
4. Coatings & paints
Extender pigment in interior/exterior paints, powder coatings, inks. Improves hiding power, weather resistance, and reduces cost.
5. Adhesives & sealants
Filler to improve viscosity, strength, and reduce cost.
6. Construction materials
Used in concrete, mortar, putty, tiles, artificial stone to improve workability and strength.
7. Other industries
Used in ceramics, glass, feed, environmental desulfurization, etc.

Typical Dosage (by industry)

• Plastics: 10% – 50% (depending on product type)
• Rubber: 20% – 60%
• Paper: 10% – 30% (filler); 20% – 40% (coating)
• Paints & coatings: 10% – 40%
• Adhesives: 10% – 50%
• Construction: 5% – 30%

Dosage is adjusted according to product performance requirements and cost targets.
